Last updated 18 September 2026. This notice is for the SPUR Adventure family trail on this website.
Who is responsible
The operator of this website (SPUR Adventure) is the responsible party for personal information you enter on this form. Spur Corporation and its Spur Club app are separate responsible parties. We do not receive your Spur Club profile until you later allow that sharing in Spur’s own prompt.
Why we collect information
We collect parent or guardian name, surname, email, WhatsApp number, and password so we can:
- create and secure the adult family account
- send the child’s private PIN access link
- send weekly adventure story and holiday chapter unlocks
- identify which adult is the competent person for a child’s trail
We collect the child’s first name or nickname and age group only so we can create their adventurer profile and match the trail to their age. We do not collect a child’s surname, identity number, or email.
Children (POPIA sections 34 and 35)
We only process a child’s information with explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian given on this form. That consent is stored with the family account. If you are not the parent or legal guardian, do not create an account for a child.
Marketing (POPIA section 69)
Holiday updates and Spur Club activity alerts are optional. We only send those if you tick the separate marketing box. You can opt out later by asking us to stop, or from the parent portal when that control is available. PIN links and chapter unlocks are service messages for the trail, not marketing.
How we store and protect it
Accounts sit on this platform’s servers. Passwords are stored as hashes, not as readable text. Access to a child’s trail uses the parent account and the child’s private PIN. We do not sell family contact details.
How long we keep it
We keep family trail information while the account is active and for a reasonable period after last use so the child can return to the same trail. We then delete or de-identify it unless the law requires us to keep a record of consent.
Your rights
A parent or guardian may ask us to access, correct, or delete the family’s information, or to withdraw consent for a child’s trail. Use the parent portal or the contact details on this website. Deleting the family account removes the adult login and the linked Adventurer profiles from this trail.
